5 Common Sizes of Posters - Download Templates

Poster and banners are used for both indoor and outdoor branding. Customers often don't have clear understanding of differences between them. Poster ideally is printed on paper and banner on banner media other than paper like flex and vinyl. Though its not a sounding differentiation, but we will take it for now.

Posters we have divided into 5 most common sizes which it can be categorized. These sizes are international paper sizes well accepted world wide. If you are looking for customized size then it is better you go with the closest size to these common one. As say if you want poster in little bigger than A4 size then it will be printed on A3 size which is next bigger size than A4. It is infact twice as much as A4 so if we place two A4 pages together than we have A3 size. A4 is 210x297 mm, if you want to print in 240x297 mm then its only 30 mm more than A4 but you need to pay for A3 size poster which would be almost double the cost.

• A3 Size - 420x297 mm 16.54x11.69 inches 42x29.7 cm
• A2 Size - 596x420 mm 23.38x16.54 inches 59.6x42 cm
• A1 Size - 840x596 mm 33.08x23.38 inches 84x59.6 cm

If you wish it to design poster in image then the recommended resolution of image file is 300 DPI or more. For larger size poster like A1 and A0 it is better to use professional camera like DSLR for higher resolution images from google as well.
