Flex Canopy Size & How to Design

Canopies are used prominent tool for outdoor sale. It gives perfect shelter to your sales team against scorching heat. You have option of either going with plain canopy without any branding or printed branded canopy. Canopies are available in different sizes with mostly flat top structure. We also have canonical roof tent as well. This though is not 100% water proof but still is preventive in any water setting in. All these are robust and withstand tough weather condition and won't fall even in heavy winds.

These are portable and sturdy. It won't take too long for it to get dismantled, the whole process can be done within 5-10 minutes. All canopy provided by Whizz Prints are powder coated which ensures that it stays rust free. It is high quality aluminium body with MS steel coated frame. There is nylon good quality carry bag provided for easy carry. All these are delivered as one single ready to use unit free of cost all over India. You can also check with us, if we can provide you with these canopies on rent as it may be tiresome for you to carry it from one city to another. It add to the extra luggage weight and cost as well.

Now coming to the most important point how to get it correctly designed and printed. Canopies are printed in normal flex which is digitally printed to ensure good print quality. Most widely used canopy is 4x4x7 ft and 6x6x7 ft they are also referred as 4ft canopy and 6ft canopy as well. 4ft canopy is for 4x4x7 ft and 6ft is 6x6x7 ft.

4x4x7 ft which is used more than 6ft is cheaper and occupies lesser space. This can almost fit anywhere outdoor and indoor as well. You can use them at various events, exhibitions, mall, melas etc. 6ft is little bigger and will require enough space to get itself accommodated. If you have just 1 sales guy or at max 2 you can go with 4ft, if you have sales team in excess of 2 then we will suggest to go with 6ft.

Even best of graphic designers are not fully aware about design size and design guidelines for this product. It is important for you to make sure that they adhere to the correct specification and sizes.

For 4x4x7 ft there are 7 components i.e banners as listed below:-

• Left header - 4x1 ft
• Center header - 4x1 ft
• Right header - 4x1 ft
• Backdrop - 4x7 ft
• Left fence (bottom part of canopy) - 4x2.5 ft
• Center fence - 4x2.5 ft
• Right fence - 4x2.5 ft
• Total it will be 70 sq ft.

6x6x7 ft canopy size is listed below:-

• Left header - 6x1 ft
• Center header - 6x1 ft
• Right header - 6x1 ft
• Backdrop - 6x7 ft
• Left fence - 6x2.5 ft
• Center fence - 6x2.5 ft
• Right fence - 6x2.5 ft
• Total it will be 105 sq ft.

As you can see 6x6x7 ft canopy will require more flex, it cost both frame and banner will be more than that of the 4ft. Also it is important to note that for both 4ft and 6ft canopy, the header and footer banner height is same. Header height is 1ft only i.e. 4x1 ft and 6x1 ft and footer termed as fence is 2.5ft i.e. 4x2.5 ft and 6x2.5 ft.

Design should be in high resolution file with minimum recommended DPI being 100 DPI. If your design file is in 4x4x7 ft it can't be simply converted to 6x6x7 ft and so is the case with 6ft one. Before getting it designed, ask your designer to provide you with file variation for both sizes as at printer it would be difficult to resize.

Accepted design file is PDF, CDR, AI, image format etc.
